During the conversion of the EVBIMMER I came across another BMW 3 Series for sale. As I compared the original car to this new one I found it difficult to remain motivated as the new car just seemed to fit the “vision” that I had in my mind of what my first EV needed to look like.
Because of this

I decided to strike a deal with the seller. One very RAINY friday afternoon I loaded the second car onto a dolly and pulled it home. By the next night I had the I.C.E and transmission removed, this was an automatic car, and began the conversion process…. Again :)

First I cut the rear trunk out in order to place the rear pack of 6 batteries as low as possible. I then removed all of the EV components from the original car as well as the manual transmission. I converted the new car over to manual and installed the electric motor and front battery trays. From start to finish this move took five days.

Video of a short drive in the car can be seen on Youtube. I would like to thank my new friend Thaniel for filming this and then taking the time to post them.
